Courtney + Tobias | Rochester, NY Wedding Video

Right off the bat I’ll tell you my favorite thing about Courtney and Tobias’s wedding: their letters to each other. These letters still get me when I go back and watch their video again, even 9 months later. They were sweet, romantic, and just the perfect amount of whimsy to remind you of all the good things this life has to offer. I wanted to put every word of each letter into the video because they were just that good, but somehow I managed to pick out the very very best parts to begin this video. I feel like it really shows how these two care for each other and love each other.

These two were so incredibly friendly as well! I don’t think Tobias stopped smiling from the moment I first saw him that morning until the end of the day. He’s just always got a smile on his face! I also loved seeing how Courtney changed a little bit once they had their first look together. Courtney didn’t seem too stressed out or nervous while she was getting ready – she was absolutely wonderful, but I could still tell that she just felt more comfortable, more at home once her and Toby had their first look. The two of them kept each other laughing and smiling the entire day and it was so fun to see them interact with each other.

This wedding brought me out to the Cobblestone Wedding Barn in Scottsville, NY for the first time. This property is absolutely gorgeous. I love the cobblestone house at the front of the property and the white barn behind it. There are also so many locations to go to get a variety of different backdrops for photos and and video. I’m really happy that I’ll be able to go back to the Cobblestone Wedding Barn later this year!

Courtney got ready in the house while Toby got ready in one of the small cottages towards the back of the

property. The photographers (Keech Photography) found a dreamy little spot in the trees for one of my favorite first looks ever. I love Toby’s reaction when he turned around to see his bride. Then we got to spend a good chunk of time traipsing around Cobblestone taking so many beautiful photos and videos.

They held the ceremony right behind the barn in the gorgeous-first-day-of-summer sunshine! I really like what the officiant had to say about marriage (it’s in the video so you can hear it there!). Then it was party time! I LOVED Courtney’s sister’s speech to them. Again, it felt like we had another story teller on our hands. I love how she talks about going from “matching clothes and bows” to “talking about jobs and 401ks.” What a great look at a span of sisterhood.

As you can see, some of my favorite parts from this wedding were the words. The words from their letters. The words from the officiant. The words from the speeches. So of course, this video ends with one of my all-time favorite quotes from a wedding EVER. It comes from Courtney’s letter to Toby and it’s the epitome of why we have a wedding at all: it’s the beginning of forever.
