Jenna + Brian | NYE Wedding, CNY Wedding Videographer

This is a love story that spans from Central NY, Boston, Rochester, and many places in between. Jenna and Brian first met when Jenna organized for several friends to go to a Syracuse vs. Boston College football game. Jenna is originally from CNY and attended Syracuse University but both Jenna and Brian were living in Boston at the time. While Brian wasn’t a fan of either team, once he laid eyes on Jenna, he stayed for the duration of the entire game despite the pouring rain. On December 30, 2016, they said told each other that they loved each other for the very first time. Fast forward 4 years and 1 day later, they were saying their “I Dos” in front of their parents and closest friends on a New Year’s Eve wedding in Central New York.

Jenna and Brian originally had a big New Year’s Eve wedding planned at a venue in Syracuse, but as the virus continued to rage on throughout 2020, they opted for an intimate party at an AirBNB closer to the Ithaca area. They both got ready on site, but in separate buildings. I first met up with Jenna and chatted with her a bit before going to the main house and meeting Brian for the first time. After talking with each of them separately, I said (to the awesome photographer I got to work with for the day, Alyssa Flood!), “they just seem like they fit together so well. They already seem like they are married and the perfect match.” And this was BEFORE I ever even saw them together! I could just tell by the way that each of them talked, their mannerisms, and how they spoke of the other, that this was one of those couples where you just KNOW that they are meant to be together. (Alyssa agreed with me!)

Something that really stands out to me from this day was the gift that Brian gave Jenna. He had a painting made of the spot where he proposed to her, outside of their apartment in Rochester. I think that will be such a beautiful reminder of their love and history that they can hang in their home to cherish. After the gifts and touching cards, they had a first look. Brian was completely wowed and we had a wonderful, yet chilly portrait session of the two of them.

After some group photos, it was ceremony time! Jenna’s brother officiated the ceremony and the tears just kept on rolling with each of their personal vows. We can all see a lot of football games, The Bachelor nights,  and dog-loving in their future! The couple along with their close friends and parents enjoyed food from Serendipity Catering, Polaroid photo shoots, and then an epic midnight countdown and sparkler send off! It really was so, so much fun. I know it wasn’t what Jenna and Brian originally planned, but I think their intimate NYE wedding was definitely one for the books!
