I first knew Connor when he was an RA at SUNY Cortland and I was a Residence Hall Director. We never got to work together directly but we had known of each other for a few years. Fast forward 6 years and I get an email from a girl named Melissa who is telling me that she’s marrying a man named Connor and that she’s a Residence Hall Director at SUNY Cortland and is currently living at the West Campus Apartments. I was instantly like YES!!! I was the RHD at West Campus when I left that position in 2014 and she was now living in my old house! I loved all the little connections. Right away I was instantly excited to film their wedding.

Melissa got ready with her girls at Turning Stone Casino. They were such a fun bunch of girls. Anytime a girl wasn’t getting her hair or makeup done, she was dancing. They had the beats rolling the entire time and kept the energy high all morning. I knew immediately that this would be a fun bunch!

Melissa and Connor had a 3pm ceremony at the Apple Orchard Lodge at Dibble’s Inn in Vernon, NY. They opted for an outdoor ceremony and thankfully we had a little bit of sun on this cold November day! Guests gratefully chose blankets provided and personalized by Melissa herself as they walked up to the ceremony location. They had a good friend (another friend and previous co-worker of mine as well!), Will Ahern, officiate the ceremony. He kept things light, funny, authentic, and genuine. The ceremony was touching and their personalized vows pulled on everyone’s heartstrings. Thankfully it was also short, as it was 30 degrees outside!

Right after the ceremony, we worked along side Rebecca of Rebecca Sheets Photography to get some

awesome shots of their entire bridal party and some gorgeous golden hour lighting portraits of just Melissa and Connor as the sun was setting. I loved finding so many different gorgeous locations at Dibble’s Inn for backdrops of the two of them to canoodle in. My toes were frozen but it was really just so easy and fun to

work with Melissa and Connor. They are so in love and so natural with each other. They were willing to do anything and are just kind, GOOD people. I can’t speak enough on that.

Their reception was of course, amazing. With a meaningful speech by the best man and a custom rap by the maid of honor, the toasts were reflective of this couple: genuine and fun. After their first dance they kicked off their epic dance party with a little Usher and the dance floor was packed all night long. Melissa and Connor, thank you so much for having Mark and I at your wedding to capture your amazing day. You make up my wedding videographer dreams, for sure! Thanks for being you and including us in your day!
